Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey & WIpro Chairman Azim Premji, Both Leaders Of The Tech World Donate Big Towards COVID 19 Crisis

The global crisis due to the COVID 19 has turned out to be the biggest crisis to be faced by the whole world together. While the virus has been known to spread rapidly, philanthropists like Jack Dorsey (Twitter CEO) and back home Azim Premji (Wipro Chairman) have contributed one of the largest sums towards the combat of COVID 19 Corona crisis.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey pledged USD 1 Billion to combat COVID 19 crisis which happens to be the largest donation by a private individual towards the cause. He tweeted the message saying, “I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here,“. He is the majority owner in Square and he donated the amount from his equity in Square. He shared a Google sheet to publicly share the donations being distributed towards the cause.

Azim Premji is known to be one of the most generous philanthropist around the world. He has donated large sums of money for various causes that are close to his heart. He recently donated INR 1125 Crore to fight the Corona pandemic via his charitabe initiative – Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro – the IT company he owns.
