Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will make a comeback on Broadway this spring starring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford.

Director Thomas Kail of Hamilton will serve as the show's director, and Jeffrey Seller will serve as the show's producer.

The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre will host Sweeney Todd, with previews scheduled to start on February 26 and an opening night scheduled for March 26.

Hugh Wheeler wrote the book for the musical, which had its Broadway debut in 1979. Sondheim composed the production's score.

In a production that starred Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris, it was last performed on Broadway in 2005.

For the first time since the original performance, this revival will feature a 26-person orchestra, with Alex Lacamoire serving as the music director.

In the mid-1800s, a deadly barber called Sweeney Todd lived in London.

The Broadway production's first run garnered eight Tony Awards, including best musical.
