At a very young age, almost all of us tend to get conscious about our looks. This thing is especially seen in girls. In the present scenario, little girls are found worrying too much about the way they look and are often found complaining about their physical features and attributes.
Who is to be blamed for the same? That particular girl or the high standards that movies and fashion industry have set? Let’s find out how a girl overcame these fears.
Andrea Seirra Salazar, 17, a bubbly teenager had to undergo something unfortunate when she was diagnosed with stage 2 nodular sclerosis Hodgkin lymphoma. After undergoing several chemotherapy sessions, the side-effects started to show up and she lost all her hair. Becoming self-conscious, she started withdrawing herself from everyone around her and had an opinion that looks defined who she was.
Soon, her mother persuaded her to start modeling to divert her mind from sickness and gain back her lost confidence.
Initially, she was reluctant and fearful, as she mentioned, “I did not feel confident enough to do a version without a wig, but then I realized that I had no reason to be ashamed of the way I looked, I should be proud,”
The girl proved that real beauty is something that comes from inside, it is when you are confident and have a positive attitude towards yourself, the world around you, as well as life. All you need to do is stop and look at it.
